In 1955 an ordinary woman decided to defy a law that discriminated against her because of her colour. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a bus, a decision that had far greater consequences than she may have ever imagined. She set in motion a chain of events that changed the structure of a society. Had she intended to do that? Whatever her intention, her commitment to a higher standard compelled her to act.
Could we change our lives simply by having the courage to do so and the realization that we can control what happens in our life. We may not be able to control the events but we can control our response to them and the actions we choose to take as a result.
